Commercial typefaces are typefaces where you pay a license to use one or more software fonts.

They differ from open source or libre typefaces in that they normally have fairly restrictive uses and you often have to re-license them to use on new projects or uses.

Commercial typefaces are often of much higher quality than open source or libre type.
